My Keys to First Mile Cantine (Happy Hour Edition)

What’s up fam?!?! It’s your boy Big Klotz and I want you to join me as I eat through the best places Wichita has to offer! I grew up in the restaurant business and my favorite part is the FOOD! Hospitality and service is important too but that can be subjective and we want to CELEBRATE the eats!


Here’s the deal, I check out a local (3YUM6) favorite and give you My Keys to a solid experience. Menu items you can’t go wrong with, hidden menu items, far out combos and anything that will guide you to an #SFFE (SuperFantastic Food Experience)!

Big Klotz goes happy hour this time bringing to First Mile Cantine for #TiniTuesdays! Located in the heart of downtown Wichita, you can catch #TiniTuesdays from 5pm-7pm.

Happy hour is a time to relax, unwind from a tough day or even celebrate a great day…either way, it should be a straight and to the point experience and FMC (First Mile Cantine) delivers!!!

Tini with them Super Cheez-its!

MAJOR KEY ALERT!!!!!!! It’s $2 martini happy hour every Tuesday! Gin? Vodka? Dirty or Clean? Or you can get it extra dirty and have some stuffed bleu cheese olives….something of which @BigOliveDave would approve. These libations are made right, no cutting corners. Want a twist to your martini? Here’s a BIG KEY: order your tini of choice (Gin or Vodka) extra dirty…on the rocks…IN A ROCKS GLASS! James Bond ain’t got nothing on my boy!

What’s happy hour with out snacks? WHAT IS IT I ASK YOU?! Snacks are a MAJOR KEY at happy hour…it soaks everything up. You still have to go home and function after this!

My Key step one is to get the Super Cheez-its without hesitation. Here’s what you do…sit down, order your tini, order the Super Cheez-its. Done. These suckers are simple yet insanely good. The perfect drinking snack…move over bar nuts!

Shishito - POW!

Next up, go-go Shishito! Another Key here is to try these perfectly blistered and flavor packed Shishito peppers. Next on deck is FMC’s Lebneh Toast…this ain’t your Sito’s lebneh. Not only is the yogurt spread spot on and creamy, they pack on a perfect balance of herbs, pickled onion, roasted cherry tomatoes, roasted garlic and a chili oil. Racks on racks of flavor…Sito would be proud.

Don’t stop there, Go with the Truffle Fries (ANOTHER ONE!! *airhorn*). Fried to perfection, flavored with passion and served with a sauce that’s worth its weight in gold. DO IT! DO IT!

Ladies and gentlemen, these glorious menu items are there around the clock…but there is just something special about a good happy hour #SFFE…First Mile Cantine absolutely delivers! Did I mention the Martinis are 2 freaking dollars?! COME ON!

In 2018, Big Klotz sowed his roots into Wichita by way of Ohio, Florida and New Jersey. Having the experience of working in his Uncle’s deli, Big Klotz appreciates small businesses and local flavors because he understands the passion behind what it takes. Big Klotz is known to order one of everything off the menu. In 2003, he was enshrined in the Don Shula Steakhouse wall of fame for finishing a 48 Oz Porterhouse steak at the Dolphin Hotel in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Big Klotz looks to bring his big appetite to the 316 and find the best on every menu in Wichita!!
